Joel: I never saw you again after our graduation but I will always remember both the bravado and the humor you brought to our class. You always reminded me of the master of the manor; Joel the gregarious; Joel the flamboyant; Joel whose middle name "Prendergast" seemed to ideally fit your personality. I remember well the antics you pulled in many classes all done with carefree, jovial, and at times, almost a bit haughty attitude which could only be expected from Joel. That bit of the 'ole manure shoveling could sometimes become so intense, that teachers and students alike would throw their hands up or at least put them over their ears. You loved speech and acting; you loved music (piano) and you loved swimming. We kidded you a lot but this never seemed to bother you. You were especially gracious during that one particular event in our senior year when we seniors used you as the main part of our prank on the football field at lunchtime. Joel, I have heard that you choose teaching as your career and that you were very good and well-loved in this profession. I could not think of something better that would fit Joel Storss than that of an educator - you need the desire, the gift of "gab", and the patience - these are certainly attributes that Joel Prendergast Storss possessed.
