Edward Patrick Tarrant

Ed Tarrant, born April 23rd, 1943, died peacefully at his home in San Rafael the evening of October 23rd, 2005. He is survived by his beloved wife Muriel, his children Ken and LeAnn Tarrant, Tom and Zoe Tarrant, and Julie and Don Martinez, and his four grandchildren, Kevin, Elise, Emily and Josiah. Blessed with a large and loving group of family and friends, Ed's most cherished times were spent with his many love ones, particularly his wife, children and grandchildren.  Some of his greatest passions included playing golf, traveling, fishing and boating, hunting, gardening and cooking.   Ed attended St. Anselm, St. Raphael, and Marin Catholic High School.  He was a successful general contractor for over thirty years, working closely with his father, brother, brother-in-law and nephews.  Ed was a giving man who was very active at St. Sebastian Parish in Greenbrae, through which he generously volunteered  at Marin General Hospital. In a tribute to Ed his family wrote: "Your legacy will carry on through the strong morals and values you instilled in all of us over the years.  Your gift to us is the example you set through your positive attitude and loving qualities, which touched so many people and will continue to inspire us forever. We will miss you with all our hearts, but we know that your spirit will always be there with us."

Ed:

You left so suddenly that I never got to thank you for what you did for mother Nora O'Brien as she was dying from cancer. The sacraments (and the boot legged wine) you delivered, the time you spent, the stories you told, the laughing (proving two micks in a room is a potential riot), and your compassion made her passing so much easier for her.

Thank you.
