Patricia Ritchie (Pearson)

In Memory of  Patricia Pearson   October 23, 1943 - August 6, 2017

It is with great sadness that the family of Patsy announce her passing on August 6, 2017. Her daughter and son in law were by her side. Patsy spent most of her life in Fairfax growing up on Manor Hill with her brother Ed. Here she began many lifelong friendships with the children that would come over from San Francisco and spend their summers on the hill. Patsy attended Saint Rafael's elementary school in san Rafael and continued on to Marin Catholic High School where she would continue on her path to amazing friendships. Patsy stayed in Marin and raised her three children on the same hill where she grew up in the house right next door.

Nothing was more important to Patsy than her friends. If you were her friend you could count on her to be there for you. Over the years her friendships took her on trips to Australia, Scotland, Ireland, Greece and her annual trip to Maui where she would spend some of her happiest times with what was her most special group of friends. Travel became very easy for Patsy. When her son Timothy and his wife Loraine moved to Egypt she was there to see what it was all about and did the same when they moved to Morocco. On her adventure to Morocco she was able to meet her newest grandchild.

If you were spending any quality time with Patsy there was most likely a lot of laughs and a Cosmo in hand. Maybe you were sitting by the pool, maybe you were playing Canasta, maybe you were decorating the church with her. Wherever you were if you were with Patsy you were hearing a story and it was probably making you laugh.

Patsy is survived by her brother Edward (Merle), her children Timothy (Loraine), Stephannie (Gilbert) and Suzanne, her grandchildren, Caitlin (Johnathan),Andrew, Rudie, Jordan, Kenneth, William, and Alexandria, and her great grandchildren Gage, Lilith, and Lucien and countless friends. We will all miss her stories, her Cosmos and her larger than life personality. Her leaving will leave a gap that will never be replaced. We know that after such a strong battle with her illness she is in a beautiful place where she was greeted by her friends and family that has gone before her including her baby great granddaughter Illythia Willow.  Further information at legacy.com

I was in disbelief when I was notified of Patsy death one week ago.  Knew that she had been sick but not that serious.  Immediately 67 years flashed through my head.  We started school together in 1950, first grade, St. Raphael's.   Might even had been kindergarten the year before.  We weren't best friends but our friendship continued for all these 67 plus years.  She will be missed and loved by all.  She loved to organize gatherings and now I regret that she won't be organizing our next luncheon.

God Bless her knowing that she is in a better, pain-free place with our other classmates that we have loss over the years.

To our class of 1961:

I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Patty Ritchie Pearson. I remember vividly our fun conversaton at the 50th reunion. We sat at the same table and just had a blast talking and laughing. I truly can't believe that in a few short years, she would not be with us. It saddens me greatly.  Much love to her family and friends. She made a difference.
